Meet Soca Sax


 

Lynnette Boschulte, known as "SocaSax," is a passionate, driven musician and music educator, who is very determined and committed to a career in music performance and education.

In the summer of 2008 Lynnette participated in the Berklee College of Music Summer Program, which gave her a head start on her educational pursuits.

In 2009, Ready to broaden her horizons Lynnette left the island paradise of Saint Thomas, U.S Virgin Islands to follow her vision and enrolled in a university to pursue Music Education and Jazz Studies.

Lynnette is certified in the instruction of Quelbe music, a caribbean music form. During her time at North Carolina Central University, Lynnette has performed in the NCCU Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and other ensembles on campus. She now holds a Bachelor's in Music Education and a Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Studies.

Through her life's journey she became "SocaSax," a moniker formed in honor of her Caribbean roots. She has been featured in concert on solo piano, voice and saxophone. Lynnette's musical ability also extends to playing organ, flute, and steel drums.

"I want to share my music through education and performance. My students are my joy, and I promise to continue to hone my craft, so that they always receive the best education."

SocaSax is a dynamic performer, and currently performs around the United States.
